Waste and recycling cost reduction for every location
Waste contracts renew automatically, add fuel and environmental surcharges, and are priced for the container and pickup schedule you needed years ago. Few businesses have time to check whether a half-empty dumpster is still being emptied three times a week. That is exactly what a waste audit checks.
What drives a waste bill
Hauling invoices combine service charges with fees that are easy to overlook. The review looks at each one per location.
- Container sizes and pickup frequency compared with how full containers actually are
- Fuel, environmental, recovery and administrative surcharges
- Rate increases applied under automatic-renewal clauses
- Recycling, cardboard, medical and hazardous waste streams billed separately
From invoices to a right-sized service
You share recent invoices and the service agreement for each site. Analysts compare what you are billed with what your locations generate and with current market rates, then recommend changes such as a different container, a different schedule or corrected surcharges.
Contract terms matter as much as rates: renewal dates, notice periods and price-increase clauses are flagged so the next renewal happens on your terms rather than by default.
Contingency-based
If no savings are found, there is no fee. When savings are achieved, the fee is a share of them, and invoices are monitored afterwards to make sure the agreed changes stick.
Savings engagements are contracted with MECA LLC under the Schooley Mitchell brand. West Tennessee Consulting operates this site and introduces the engagement; it is a separate company.
Frequently asked questions
- Does this work for businesses with several locations?
- Yes. Multi-location businesses often benefit most, because service levels drift differently at each site and are rarely compared side by side.
- Will our pickups be interrupted?
- No. Service continues as normal while the review takes place, and any change in schedule or container is agreed with you first.
- Do you review medical or hazardous waste?
- Yes. Medical, oil and hazardous waste services are reviewed alongside regular trash and recycling.
